Instructional Design Competencies

Creating adaptive and personalized online learning experiences require skill. Instructional designers use emerging technologies, learning analytics and learn theory to design great projects. I have developed these competencies through earning a Master of Science in Learning Design and Technology degree from the University of Maryland.

1Communicate clearly in writing and speaking, meeting expectations for content, purpose, organization, audience and format
2Apply logical processes to formulate clear, defensible ideas based on the analysis of facts and ethical considerations.
3Use mathematical information, operations, and quantitative analyses to solve problems and inform decision making
4Lead, facilitate and collaborate with a variety of individuals and diverse teams to achieve organizational objectives
5Demonstrate competency in learning theory, curriculum design techniques, teaching and instruction, and the assessment of learning and the learning process
6Apply mathematical operations, analytical concepts and operations, and analytic tools to address problems and inform decision making that optimize the teaching and learning process
7Demonstrate competency in media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods
8Lead learning design projects targeted to specific institutional needs, priorities and strategies
9Apply research, networking, communication, goal setting, and planning skills to develop and manage your career.
