Professional Development – Five Year Plan
Instructional Design is an expanding field as new technologies and thought develops in the industry. These are my plans to stay current and expand my skills as a professional. In five years, I want to have a well-developed portfolio of products that I have created for a variety of business.
First: Community involvement
Join and ongoing involvement with the Association of Talent Development
-
- Conferences
- 2 E-Books info_outline
- 4 TD at Work Issues info_outline
- 1 Research Report info_outline
- and 1 Library of 10 Adaptive Learning Courses
Consider UPCEA if the opportunity presents itself.
Second: New technology – skill development
Adobe Captivate and Creative Cloud skill development
-
- Captivate (authoring software)
- Photoshop
- Illustrator
- InDesign
- Premiere Pro
- and XD
Third: Portfolio and Business Development
The transition from admissions professional to full-on instructional designer will be the most difficult challenge within the next five years. Finding opportunity and developing my portfolio while having one foot in the admissions world will not provide the scope that I want to see in my portfolio. However, there is much opportunity starting with Oregon Hang Gliding.
Five- year goal: Remote work while traveling Europe.
